Something New

Hello fellow readers,
Lately i've been caught up in school and music events. My orchestra played a piece by Shostakovich last month and I could never be more in love with a piece of music, I was so sad to stop playing Shostakovich but I'm grateful for getting the opportunity to play something so profound in the first place. This has been what's going on with me and I decided to switch up the posting a little bit and put up one of my latest obsessions: Makeup.  I don't wear a lot of makeup just some cover up here and there, a little mascara and I'm ready to hit the road. Lately I've been really getting in touch with the art of makeup. There is such a variety of personas that one person can choose from with just a simple set of makeup. I've been experimenting with different day time and night time looks by looking up photos of some classic beauties and some other anonymous ladies.

Inspired by Art

Even though fashion is an art all on it's own I would like to say I'm inspired by painted canvases and sculptures from Van Gogh to O'Keefe. I love every kind of art and I've recently been intrigued by Earthy landscapes. Even though summer is rotations away, I am considering working at a plant nursery. I enjoy plants, flowers, and all things green with roots. One of the reasons why I love New Mexico is for it's cactus gardens and picturesque mountains. Unfortunately I feel as if I couldn't spend my life here so we'll see where that leads to. Furthermore, here's some odd bits that you may enjoy. : )

Style Icon: Alexa Chung

"I'm beginning to think I imagined you all along..."
-Arctic Monkeys Cornerstone

I love Alexa Chung's style, not only did she bring back wellies into this fall's fashion but she also has a vintage accent to her wardrobe. As a model, Alexa Chung clearly knows better than most on the do's and don'ts of the fashion industry. But being in the fashion industry also means you have to take a few risks and break the rules a bit. Alexa Chung is the perfect example of taking risks and still looking absolutely put together. (Not to mention she's dating my favorite lead singer, Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys)

London

It is not down in any map; true places never are.  -Herman Melville

I'm finally back from London and it was such a beautiful city; the architecture was simply gorgeous to say the least. Every bit of England was posh and picturesque, the English countryside was like those portrayed in movies and is even more breathtaking in person. Fashion in London was very sophisticated and simple, there was an abundance of grays and blacks, the men and women were absolutely beautiful (it made me feel like a plain Jane). So on this post I will have some pictures of London style and pictures from my trip.
Enjoy! : )
